About The Show

The Best Advice Show is your reminder that there are weird, delightful and effective ways to make life slightly and sometimes profoundly better.  In every (very short) episode of the show, a different contributor offers their take on making life more joyful, healthful and livable and it's likely gonna be something you can try today, if you want.

Contributors include poet Hanif Abdurraqib, Yung Pueblo, Gretchen Rubin, Tune-Yards, Ann Friedman, adrienne maree brown, Mark Bittman, Zak's wife, child, best friends and YOU (call Zak with your advice at 844-935-BEST).

Zak Rosen is the host and creator of TBAS.  He also co-hosts Slate's parenting show, Mom and Dad Are Fighting and he co-created and produces Pregnant Pause, How To Survive the End of the World and Freedom Dreams. He facilitates workshops and consults with museums, high schools, universities, and community organizations on various story-based projects. He's also a counselor at Radio Campfire, a live listening event series and a coach at the Detroit Writing Room.

This is the go-to show for unexpected laughter, and on the flipside, heartwarming sweaty-eyed tears as we learn new ideas to face the world with powerful suggestions to become stronger, more resilient and navigate the challenges we face. Zak integrates soulful music and his own wisdom with anecdotes about his delightful young children and accomplished wife, Shira. I highly recommend this podcast!

Love all the short easy to listen to pieces of advice. Especially enjoy food Friday but I do like the diversity of all of the advice!
